February

The month of February has gone by quickly and we have been very busy. Liam continues to impress us with his vocabulary growth and is even starting to put two-three word sentences together. He is able to tell us what letters come next in the alphabet and make "predictions" of what will happen next in stories that we read. His favorite activities this month include playing with his tunnel, reading and playing hide-n-seek with anyone and everyone...including the dogs!

This month has also been pretty mild, weather wise. We have been able to get outside and play in the parks. Liam also helped his dada and papa build his new trike, followed by a spin around the neighborhood.

We also made a trip to Butte, MT to visit Josh's grandma Marg. On the way, we stopped in Missoula to see Josh's brother, Justing and his wife Jenni. Liam had a blast with his aunt and uncle and their two dogs. While in Missoula, Liam also got to ride on a carousel for the first time. Much to our surprise he really seemed to enjoy it and kept saying, "again, again."  I, however, panicked somewhat as the the carousel began to gain speed...a shocker I am sure!
Liam did not want to take this picture....can you tell??

In Butte, Liam got to spend time with his great-aunt Peggy, great-uncle Bobby along with his second and third cousins. We also visited his great-grandma Marg in her new home. I am glad we got to go, but seeing Josh's grandma without her usual spunk was difficult. However, we were able to make some wonderful memories that we can cherish forever.

Liam also had a great time meeting the extra-special residents.....the turtles! Charlie was his favorite. He got to touch his shell and even tried to gold him! I am so impressed with how ready Liam is to try new things!

It's hard to believe that 17 months have gone by. Our little boy has a full set of teeth, weight 22 pounds and continues to get taller. His sense of humor resembles his daddy's and his temper-tantrums get stronger and more impressive every time! ;) We continue to thank our Father for this beautiful baby boy.

We have a toddler!

As Liam turned 16 months, I can't believe that I no longer have a little baby but rather a toddler. He no longer chooses to crawl and is becoming a faster walker everyday. His favorite thing to do is chase the dogs around the house and play tag with his parents! The dogs have to get creative now as to where they run in the house because Liam is so quick to catch them!

He also continues to impress us with his vast knowledge of words, sounds and overall understanding of language. Liam has been working on learning the alphabet, and can repeat and say most letters right along with us! It is pretty amazing! He also knows the sounds by sight of the following letters: n, o, t, s, m and p. Liam enjoys looking at the vinyl letter sayings on his bedroom wall and call out names of letters as he points to them. I know I am a bit biased, but this little boy is one smart cookie!

He also knows many animal sounds and movements that animals make. He has most recently begun flapping is arms and clucking like a chicken! I have to say that one is my favorite! He also loves to quack, growl, bark, meow, moo, baaa, maaa, ssssss like a snake, make horsey sounds, buzz like a bee, and ribbit like a frog. It is so much fun watching him read his animal books by making all of their sounds.

Some of Liam's favorite activities are brushing his teeth, playing hide-n-seek, throwing food on the floor, tormenting the hounds, and counting to three followed by jumping onto pillows or falling on the floor! He also enjoys jamming out to music in his room and jumping on the bed...a habit in which daddy started! Liam also enjoys helping us with the dishes and laundry! He loves to hand us dishes from the dishwasher and "fold" clothes! Most of those clothes end up on the floor, but who are we to judge the way a toddler helps out?

We also got snow a couple of weeks ago for the first time all season. Liam had a blast helping his daddy shovel, making snowmen and stomping in the yard. I am so glad he had the opportunity to experience snow! We are hoping to take him sledding if it snows again!

We are excited to see what the next few months bring us. We are so thankful for this amazing, happy and healthy little boy!

We like to Party!

Today, Liam showed us that he is really paying attention to our drinks of choice when hockey is on the TV. He wanted something to drink and is water cup is always within reach. However, instead of drinking from his "aqua" cup, he chose to pick up daddy's beer. He then walked around the room for about 15 minutes making drinking sounds followed by "ahhhhh." At least he is learning which beer to bring to the party at an early age!

Proud to announce that Liam can now say the word, "hockey." We were playing it the other day in the living room while an NHL game was on the TV in the background. Someone scored a goal and he started clapping along with the audience. He then went on to point and the TV and say, "hockey." I have never been so proud! :)

Liam loves to swim!

Liam loves going to the pool with his papa! Papa Con takes him a few times a month to the YMCA. Liam gets braver everyday and is even jumping off the ledge and putting his face in the water and blowing bubbles! Last week, daddy got to join in on the fun!
16 months have gone by since the great addition to our family arrived. Liam's personality is developing more and more everyday! He has such a funny sense of humor (like his daddy) and an attitude all his own (like his mommy)!
