We have a toddler!

As Liam turned 16 months, I can't believe that I no longer have a little baby but rather a toddler. He no longer chooses to crawl and is becoming a faster walker everyday. His favorite thing to do is chase the dogs around the house and play tag with his parents! The dogs have to get creative now as to where they run in the house because Liam is so quick to catch them!

He also continues to impress us with his vast knowledge of words, sounds and overall understanding of language. Liam has been working on learning the alphabet, and can repeat and say most letters right along with us! It is pretty amazing! He also knows the sounds by sight of the following letters: n, o, t, s, m and p. Liam enjoys looking at the vinyl letter sayings on his bedroom wall and call out names of letters as he points to them. I know I am a bit biased, but this little boy is one smart cookie!

He also knows many animal sounds and movements that animals make. He has most recently begun flapping is arms and clucking like a chicken! I have to say that one is my favorite! He also loves to quack, growl, bark, meow, moo, baaa, maaa, ssssss like a snake, make horsey sounds, buzz like a bee, and ribbit like a frog. It is so much fun watching him read his animal books by making all of their sounds.

Some of Liam's favorite activities are brushing his teeth, playing hide-n-seek, throwing food on the floor, tormenting the hounds, and counting to three followed by jumping onto pillows or falling on the floor! He also enjoys jamming out to music in his room and jumping on the bed...a habit in which daddy started! Liam also enjoys helping us with the dishes and laundry! He loves to hand us dishes from the dishwasher and "fold" clothes! Most of those clothes end up on the floor, but who are we to judge the way a toddler helps out?

We also got snow a couple of weeks ago for the first time all season. Liam had a blast helping his daddy shovel, making snowmen and stomping in the yard. I am so glad he had the opportunity to experience snow! We are hoping to take him sledding if it snows again!

We are excited to see what the next few months bring us. We are so thankful for this amazing, happy and healthy little boy!
